| The
story of BUILDMET is a saga of success. Success well deserved
for a team of hard working and dedicated men who never had
the time nor occasion to look back, ever since they started
the construction company in 1974.
Indeed BUILDMET's speedy climb to its present level may appear
effortless but it is the culmination of a concerted effort
and excellent team work all along the way.
How it all started.
In 1974, a team of young and ambitious civil engineers resigned
from their lucrative jobs and joined hands to form a company
under the name of Buildmet Private Limited - now BUILDMET
LIMITED. The team's backbone was its grit and determination
coupled with vast experience in industrial construction, to
make a name for themselves in the construction field. Formative
years were encouraging. Small but reputed contracts came the
way of BUILDMET. The motivated team never had time for anything
except the project on hand and from there to the next bigger
project and so on, till the company carved itself a niche
among the reputed construction companies in India.
Consolidation
Soon, BUILDMET's name became synonymous with the successful
completion of major projects - not only around the country,
but also internationally. Today, some of BUILDMET's reputed
and prestigious clients include:
- Karnataka Electricity Board - Bangalore
- Graphite India Limited - Bangalore Plant
- Associated Cement Companies Limited - Wadi and Madukkarai
- Gujrat Ambuja Cements Limited - kodinar Grasim Industries
Limited - Jawad and Raipur
- Indian Rayon and Industries Limited - Malkhed and Solapur
- Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research - Kalpakkam
- Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited - Neyveli
- Indian Rare Earths Limited - Chatrapur
- Thai Rayon Company Limited - Bankok, Thailand
- P.T. Indo Bharat Rayon - Jakarta, Indonesia.
Expansion & Diversification
Expanding manpower needs were satisfactorily supplemented
by the recruitment of the best talent available in the field
by a countrywide search. The company also gained distinction
and accolades in the field by procuring imported equipment
for the execution of specialized slipform construction work.
Growth and expansion - natural corollaries of business, prompted
BUILDMET to seek diversification into other fields.
