| Description |
The Buildmet Technologies UPS is developed
for controlling an Uninterrupted Power Supply
(UPS). Besides UPS, the IC may also be used
for Silent Home Generator, Inverter, (IPS)
Instant Power System or Electronic Generator
etc. Computers and other electronic equipment
may be powered with this UPS. A UPS is used
to provide AC power to critical loads during
power failure. It consists of a battery which
stores available AC power as DC, which is
then converted to AC during power failure.
The system controls both the battery charging
section as well as the inverter section for
the UPS. The UPS may be implemented using
commonly available components including the
power drivers (Transistors, MOSFET, IGBT)
and a transformer etc. This implementation
is the BT7101UPS ASIC marketed earlier.
